William Pearson began his career in 1950, working under Norman Norell. Pearson launched his own label in 1960.
After a two-year Parisian sabbatical in the 60s–during which he studied traditional couture dressmaking techniques–Pearson returned to LA to create his own collection.
He joined the faculty at Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising until his passing in 1988.
This piece dates to the early 70s and serves as a stunning example of Pearson's work.
It is comprised of quality cotton poplin that has character and movement from the netting and lining throughout the piece.
Extreme puff sleeves--side pockets--back zip closure.
In very good, vintage condition for such a substantial piece.
Please see measurements, as size 8 is vintage sizing.
See last photos for detail of slight wear from floor contact at bottom hem--and missing eye at zip closure.
