Vintage 7.5" Wooden “Michiyuki” Japanese Kokeshi Doll by Masai/Shoei Fujikawa

Vintage 7.5" Red Wooden Japanese Kokeshi Doll by Masai/Shoei Fujikawa This Japanese wooden kokeshi doll by noted kokeshi doll maker Masai/Shoei Fujikawa (1942-2015) is in very good condition - just a small nick on the back left side of her head (see photos/video). It is his “Michiyuki” doll, with his foil sticker on the bottom. It is red and black, with a carved/etched design of plum blossoms and grasses. This doll would be a beautiful and special addition to any Japanese kokeshi doll collection.  Masai Fujikawa won the Prime Minister’s prize in the contest of all Japanese Kokeshi Dolls.  He received the following awards, amongst others: - Prime Minister's Prize ('96) - Prime Minister's Prize ('02) - Minister of International Trade and Industry Prize ('95)  - Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Prize ('95 and '96) - Director General Prize of Small and Medium Enterprise Agency ('71 and ‘88) - Director General Prize of Forestry Agency ('90)   - Kanto Bureau of International Trade and Industry Prize ('90)  - Tokyo Bureau of International Trade and Industry Prize ('84)   - President Prize of Gunma Chamber of Commerce and Industry (‘72) Dimensions are approximately 7.5 inches tall, 3.5 inches wide at top, and 2.25 inches wide at the base.
