He created hand-sewn leather clothing for Mick Jagger, Miles Davis, Tina Turner, Patty Smith and Andy Warhol, dying the leather skins in the bathtub of his apartment. Several of his pieces are in the permanent collection at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.
