Vintage '90's The Limited pencil skirt

Denver, CO, 1999 - I'm 29 working at my 1st office job, but I dress like I'm going to Burning Man. My boss gently suggests I get new clothes in order to fit in. I'm crushed. I really thought I looked good, which I did... if I was working at a Renaissance festival. A coworker who I swear was Jack from Will & Grace hears me sniffling in the bathroom. He's thrilled for a chance to create a new look for me. We work on the 16th Street Mall downtown so everything he needs to transform me is across the street. We shop at lunch & go to the Aveda salon where they treat me like an emergency. I returned to the office with my dreads combed out & flat ironed wearing this skirt, a crisp white blouse, a floating rhinestone pendant & a pair of Jimmy Choos feeling like Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman.
