Vintage Amethyst, Spinel, & Sterling Silver Pendant

The amethyst has long been hailed as a special stone with many healing properties throughout the centuries. It was used to ward off drunkeness. This stemmed from Greek mythology, a titan named Rhea gave the god of wine, Dionysus, an amethyst to help preserve his sanity. In fact, this myth led the ancient Romans to believe that amethysts could keep them from getting drunk.
