Vintage Amy Kahn Russell Pin/Pendant AKR silver

This is a one-of-a-kind estate piece by Amy Kahn Russell, hand-made and hand-painted with druzy quartz, amethyst, and lavender jade. These one-of-a-kind pieces are specially created for galleries and art institutions. This particular piece was kept in a collection, but the tag was not placed with it, and it was never worn. It resembles pieces commissioned by the Detroit Institute of the Arts, museum shops, and prestigious boutiques. Amy Kahn Russell, a forerunner in the naturalistic jewelry trend, created this one-of-a-kind pin/pendant. A fine arts graduate of Tulane, her designs have been inspired by motifs and cultures she encountered while traveling abroad. Although Amy now resides in the United States, she incorporates unusual artifacts and stones collected worldwide into her dramatic jewelry. These one-of-a-kind pieces were from my mother's estate. She could not leave the house but liked looking at beautiful, handmade things. I have inherited these pieces, and I have kept my favorites.
