Vintage Antique Betsy B Velvet and Wood Bird Basket Purse 1970s

Betsy B of Florida was in business from the mid 60s to the early 80s- this is a purse from circa mid 70s based on the tag. Betsy B box bags with velvet trims, raised decoupage, and typical kitschy Florida themes are so iconic and rare that there is a small collection featured in the Vintage Purse Museum and History Archive in Illinois. This 50 year old purse is in AMAZING condition. It features a raised decoupage bird on the lacquered wood top, soft velvet trim, a flowered lining, the original hardware, and sticker. It was located only miles away from where Mrs Beemer (the B of Betsy B) went to college- maybe this had been a gift back home to an old friend.
