Vintage Art Deco Style Sterling Silver With Marcasite & Ruby Eye Dove Brooch

Vintage Art Deco Style 925 Sterling Silver with Marcasite Stones & Ruby Eye Dove Brooch Signed Art Jewelry This highly detailed little brooch features a dove in flight. The wings have been expertly carved with feather detailing and edged along the tops with four-prong set Marcasite stones. The head, tail feathers, and claws have been given the same attention to detail with carvings, and the head features a single ruby eye. The main body is decorated with more four-prong set Marcasite stones clustered together in rows. A gorgeous piece of signed (that refers to jewelry with a maker's mark) vintage art jewelry (Art jewelry is one of the names given to jewelry created by studio craftspeople). The marks on this piece indicate that it was made between 1982-1991 by a US company called Vintage Creations. Originally called Heirloom 73, the company manufactured finely detailed handcrafted Art Deco style jewelry. The marking, alongside with “sterling” and“Vintage”, has a small stamp consisting of a stylized “H” and the number “73” inside it. The 925 sterling silver brooch features a total of 34 marcasite stones through out & a single small piece of ruby gemstone for the eye. Weighs approximately 4.78 grams. Measures approx 3/4” in across the pin bar, approx 1” in across in total, just under 1 1/4” in vertical length. Pre owned vintage item in good condition. Silver has been tested.
