Arthur Armour Hammered Aluminum bowl. Approximately 11 inches in diameter and about 2.75 inches tall Arthur Armour was originally trained as an architect. He began working for the Wendell August Forge in Grove City, PA, where he became familiar with the Repousse method of making hammered- aluminum items utilizing steel dies. He began his own shop in 1933, producing trays, bowls and household items as well as jewelry. Arthur Armour hand wrought Aluminum production was from 1933-1976. From 1956-1976 most of the items were gold anodized. This piece is truly a work of art. It boasts a head of wheat/sunburst and star pattern that is incredibly detailed; this detail is continued in the delicate scalloping which edges the piece.
