Ok, I’ve been doing my research on this jacket- and I’m still kinda confused. It’s been in my closet for a long, long while- so long that I don’t remember where I got it. I’m guessing I got it at a thrift store or hijacked it from an ex. I’ve kept it because it’s so cool, but don’t remember wearing it. Hence the research. I’ve learned that it’s likely men’s since the buttons are on the right, there’s no bust darts & it has a vent in the back. Based on the Union tag it’s 1968-1976. That’s where my confidence ends. There’s no size/ fabric tags. I’m guessing it’s a wool blend only because it has that feel (I’ve always been sensitive to wool). The tag says it was made for Famous Barr so I’m assuming it was rack ready-to-wear, but you can tell it’s been tailored for a slim (& fairly tall) fit- whether that was done at purchase or later🤷♀️. It’s got 2 chest darts on each side & the sleeve placement has been changed to bring it in. You can see in the photos that the lining has been altered, especially around the sleeves. It isn’t fully lined, the lower portion of the back panel isn’t lined. There are some small holes & snags in the lining at the hip pockets- much more so on the right. There is also some discoloration @ the lining at the right pocket & 2 spots on the left sleeve lining- all as shown in photos. There are no flaws that I see in the shell of the jacket. It’s mainly a brown & tan weave, w/ some grey & lighter colors. Info/ questions welcomed.
