Vintage BOWRON Sheepskin Rug Round “Floral” Pattern with Scalloped Edges

Vintage (see stamp 7 May 1984) sheepskin rug. 100% New Zealand sheepskin/wool Round natural color with brown scalloped edges. Shape is very rare, exquisitely unique, and reminds me of a flower. Perfect for a child’s room, in front of fireplace, or any room as a statement piece. Sheepskin comes in both curly and fluffy wool. You can see both in this. Natural yellowing of wool. You can see on the photos of the back this rug was not piece milled as is so often found in even the most expensive rugs. Full cut symmetrical panels. Made in New Zealand. Hand finished by “Vicky”. There are some dirty spots on the back. Please zoom in. They are small spots that are from normal use and not a result of spills or animals fluids (urine etc). With a carpet 40 years old that is to be expected. You can also see that there is very little color difference between the hide that is under the tag and the outer edges surrounding it. This is just an indicator that the rug has been kept in clean conditions…otherwise the hide would have absorb dirt and oils. No stains or bald spots on the wool. Carpet is 59” wide.
