Probably from the 40s, this brooch is just so much fun! Measures just over 1.5” in diameter. Very good vintage condition.

acmemermaids @heatmiller64 No! That can damage it. I don't know why people say that. The best way is with Simichrome polish, which you can smear on a tiny spot little lightly where it won't show, and then use a q-tip. If it's a yellowish color than it's bakelite. You can also run it under some hot water, and then you will get a chemical smell. It has a kind of solid weight as well...

heatmiller64 @acmemermaids I’ll give the hot water a try in a bit and get back to you. When my mom gave it to me 30 years ago, she told me it was Bakelite…she sold antique jewelry. I’ll check tho!
