where does it sit in comparison to your waist?

With low rise jeans on, it goes right about to the belt line. It looks long in the picture, but its also stretchy material. So you can scrunch it a little and bring up to where it rests just above your belt buckle, which is how I wore it. Or you can unscrunch it and it will rest just below the belt line. With high waisted jeans it will be past the belt line for sure.
