How soft is it? Does the design go only on the ends of the scarf or all throughout? On my screen, it looks dark blue.

@withoutwind It's difficult to describe, but soft like new sheets, they become softer with use. I've added more photos for you, taken over a taupe colored cloth. The scarf is black silk with gold thread designs on both sides. The ends match each other, the long sides are edged with gold thread.
