This long lightweight vintage velvet evening coat belonged to my aunt whose heyday was in the 30's and 40's. She wore this when going out on the town for dinner & dancing. It is unique in its design as it has a nifty hood. Nice for keeping your hairstyle intact. Height is 54" from the back of the neck to the bottom edge. Sleeves are 27" long. Shoulder to shoulder is 18". I would guess this is a size 4 or 6 but will let you determine that. It is lined with a smooth & satiny champagne-colored lining. There are no manufactures' or cleaning instructions labels. As I do believe in transparency, please note that it does have a few condition issues which someone who is handy with sewing can remedy. #1), there is an area on the back where two panels meet, which need to be resewn. Fabric is not torn; instead the seam's thread is worn. #2), one of the front closing loops needs to be reattached. #3), Given its age, the coat's lining should be professionally cleaned because of normal use and perspirations. #4) There are two areas at the bottom inside lining which are a bit dirty. Because it is such a deep dark midnight black it was a bit difficult to take precise photos. Photos #1 to #8 are representative of the true black. Photos #9 to #11 were taken with a bright flash to better display the repair needed and the lovely fluid velvet drapery. View all photos carefully to examine the aforementioned details.
