Vintage Cast Iron Hometown Battery Baseball Mechanical Coin Bank Toy

This unique vintage Cast Iron Hometown Battery Baseball Mechanical Bank is a reproduction of a turn of the century mechanical bank called Dark Town Battery featuring a classic baseball game. The batter's shirt says, "Possums." Good Used Condition. Still has the original metal stopper on the bottom and all moving parts. I obtained this at an estate sale 20 years ago and have kept it nicely. Original tag on bottom says "A. A. IMPORTING CO. ST. LOUIS, MO. MADE IN TAIWAN" Some tiny chips in the paint add to the look of an older original antique toy. Coins are placed in the pitcher's glove; a lever is pushed behind the catcher; then the pitcher throws the coin, and the catcher then drops the coin into the bank. I think it works, but it is a bit tricky. The approximate measurements are: 7 inches x 9.25 inches x 2.5 inches. This collectible piece is perfect for fans of baseball and nostalgia or antique toys. This bank is a great addition to any collection of mechanical banks.
