Vintage Chanel Gripoix Moghul Style Necklace 1960’s This is a rare and highly coveted vintage unsigned Maison Gripoix for Chanel Poured glass bead Moghul necklace. The oldest and probably the most well known workshop of bijoux de haute couture, Maison Gripoix has endured for four generations with their most famous collaborator and customer being Coco Chanel, who started working with Suzanne Gripoix in the 1920s , continuing through until 1969. Similar necklace featured in the “Jewels of Fantasy” by Deanna Farneti Cera – page 229. The necklace measures approximately 18″. The beads are all strung on chain with the largest bead measuring approximately 9/16″. Made from poured glass larger faux rubies and emeralds, with small rubies,emeralds and pearls interspersed in between, with smaller glass beads dangling and highlghting. Wearable and highly collectable, this beautiful necklace was made by Maison Gripoix for Chanel in the 1960s. Excellent condition.
