Charles F. Worth was an English designer. He was born 10/13/1825 & died 3/10/1895. He founded the House of Worth & was credited with establishing the highest level of creativity: Haute Couture. Following his death in 1895 his sons took over the House of Worth. The house flourished during the sons' tenure & into the 1920's. The fashion dynasty finally came to an end (after 4 generations) in 1952 when Charles Frederick Worth's great-grandson, Jean-Charles retired from the family business.
