Here is a vintage from 1955 I.D. bracelet by Crown Trifari. It is made of sterling silver and features a classic Cuban link chain design (which is a variation of the curb chain) with a center I.D. plate. The plate is engraved on the front with the name “J. T. O’Connell.” It is also engraved with the letters DDS that stands for (Doctor of Dental Surgery) next to a caduceus, a staff with two snakes coiled around it, that is the official insignia of the United States Medical Corps, Navy Pharmacy Division, and the Public Health Service.
The back of the plate is engraved with “DAD-LORETTA-DON” and stamped with “Crown Trifari,” indicating when it was made because 1955 is the year their jewelry was marked “Crown Trifari” without © symbol. It is also marked “Sterling,” confirming the material. It is in very, very good condition. It cleaned up well with my silver cleaner. I have never worn it.
The bracelet weighs approximately 28 grams and measures 7 ½” in length.
See pics.
Found this bracelet in several places but all were plain with no symbol of any kind on the I.D. plate, and they are selling up to $595!! Why that much? Because they are saying the bracelet is from the World War 2 era, which it is not, because they all have the “Crown Trifari” mark which was not used by Trifari, until 1955!!!!
