Vintage DMG "Made in England" Hammered Brass & Wood Repousse Wall Pocket

In really wonderful condition...DMG, "Made in England" hammered brass repousse wall pocket with raised tavern scene. Wall pockets such as this one, were believed to be used not only to hang and display artificial plants and flowers, but to hide valuables in plain sight! DIMENSIONS: 18" long x 6" wide x 1.25" opening in brass pocket. Brass pocket depth is 4.5" deep. Wooden handle (alone) measures 12.25" and has a hole for hanging. This is a very, very cool little piece of history!
