Condition: The pin is in good pre-owned condition. It has scratches on the plastic case and light scratches on the pin. The back of the pin has discoloration.
In 1999 the Disneyland Hotel underwent a period of construction to prepare for the expansion of Disneyland into the Disneyland Resort. During this time many buildings were removed for the creation of the Downtown Disney shopping area. This pin was given to construction workers and contractors who worked on this project.
The pin comes in a plastic case with "We're building more character!" written in silver on the top. The pin features Mickey Mouse in a construction inspired outfit with blue overalls, a red shirt, white hat and tool belt holding a hammer above the Disneyland Hotel logo and the year 1999.
This pin marks a special turning point of the transition of Disneyland (and the Disneyland Hotel) into the Disneyland Resort (including the expansion of Downtown Disney and Disney's California Adventure.) Many of the landmarks of the Disneyland Hotel were removed for this project including The Monorail Cafe and original buildings from 1955.
