Vintage Earrings

My grandmother once owned these stylish vintage bakelite earrings. They are fun to wear (if you have pierced ears!) and according to the internet: "Bakelite changed the world in the first half of the twentieth century. It was the first synthetic plastic and heralded an age in which we were no longer dependent on the products of nature. Hard, compact, and insoluble this was the first synthetic plastic, named Bakelite after its inventor, the Belgian-born chemist Leo Baekeland. I simply have too many dangly ear adornments!
