Emmons Home of Fashion Company was founded by Charles H. Stuart in 1948. The company was named for his wife, Caroline Emmons. Emmons marketed their jewelry under the name Emmons Jewelry, Inc. and sold directly to their customers through home parties only.
From 1955, Emmons jewelers marked their products with "Emmons" and a copyright sign next to it. Noteworthy, in November 1949, Charles Stuart registered a subsidiary company – Sarah Coventry, and began producing jewelry mostly under this brand instead. Jewelry marked Emmons ceased to be produced in early 1981.
