Vintage FUJI Lacquered Wood Music Jewelry Box, Made in Japan Possibly post war occupied Japan The box is in great condition with minor peeling to the lacquer on the corners. For details, please, see pictures. The inside has a removable tray and mirrored interior lid Red corduroy like velvet lined compartments. Upper removable tray has 3 sections total, 2 with doors on the sides. Separate lower drawer can be reached both ways: with the upper tray removed or without opening the box at all. All hand painted Mother of pearl or abalone inlay borders on the top of the lid. Lid depicts a Japanese landscape with Mt Fuji in the background. Working music mechanism. Dimensions: 8 inches wide (front and back), 4 inches tall w/o feet, 5 inches tall total, 5 1/4-in length on the side (depth) Incredibly beautiful vintage piece
