Vintage Felix Tissot Yellow Fantasia Teapot

Feliz Tissot was This ceramic teapot was made in the Taxco workshop of Felix Tissot.Designs are based upon traditional designs from the Nahua Rio Balsas villages of Guerrero. Tissot b1909-d1989. Wonderful mid-century teapot by Felix Tissot, a nationalized American of French origin. Tissot arrived in Mexico in 1956, after establishing as a successful ceramist in Los Angeles. He moved to Taxco looking for a new life and he found it. He worked alongside Antonio Castillo in the beginning, but soon he was making beautiful modernist pottery in his studio. He was inspired by the Nauhatl indians' drawings on Amate paper, and he asked them to decorate his wares with the same drawings. These pieces became known as his Fantasia line. Each piece is decorated by a different artist so there is a great range of styles.
