Attic cleanout. Bundle of first-day cover from Vietnam. The envelopes show some wear { yellowing} but no rips. The only thing I could find out about the Sunset and Shadows envelope is it is designed by a Japanese~American artist called Etsuo Sayama. please ask questions, I may not have any answers tho. :)

aperitif @mossblownlass ISn't that funny! I love that film and Stanley Donen who directed Charade was a fan of my singing! His ex-wife Pam called me one day to tell me. It was an honor! xo

mossblownlass @aperitif That was very special I’m sure. I love those old films, we just watched North by Northwest last week, still good.

aperitif @mossblownlass That is SO funny -- I just watched North by Northweat last week too! I love that film. The music stays in my head. SO funny that we are on the same wave length. When Cary Grant walks like a ballet dancer around that Frank Lloyd Wright house it is SO gorgeous. And yes -- it holds up! (I love the line to Eva Marie St "You have no feelings to hurt!" ;o) GREAT movie. I used to drink martinis with my dad at the Oak Room in The Plaza so the NYC scenes = memories!

mossblownlass @aperitif That is funny! It's a credit how the music from films stays with us, and not just Jaws:) Everything about that film Is tight. What a special memory 🍸with your dad, the best kind. Arsenic and Old Lace is another gem, Cary Grant was so versatile… & don't get me started on James Mason ❤️ :)

aperitif Isn't this funny? SAME exact likes I must tell you I used to see a shrink in Berkeley long ago (S. Wesley) who had been Cary Grant's shrink in L.A. I asked him what Cary Grant was like and he said "just like he is in the movies!" That is really him. And he said he was very nice. Wild - huh? "Funny Face" -- besides "Charade" is the most elegant movie! I am sure you know it! Michael Jackson got his black pants w loafers & white sox from Audrey Hepburn in that movie! (& yes to James Mason!!

mossblownlass @aperitif So nice to meet another early film buff:) I can believe he was just as he was in the films...he always seemed to come across as genuine. I shall have to watch Funny Face again now, you're right about the elegance of both films. We could do with a dash of it just now. An interesting snippet about Michael Jackson~ a very talented fellow.
