Vintage Frye Motorcycle Boots (Antiqued Black)

I was an emo punk girl in the 80s and 90s and was never without a pair of combat or motorcycle boots. These were my first pair of new boots when I purchased them back in 2010. A huge splurge at $350 for a newly minted social worker who had left her job in television production. They are men’s boots in what Frye calls Antiqued Black which means they’ve always looked this scuffed and beaten up. My boss asked me if I had been kicking walls the first time I wore them to work. They are supposedly a men’s size 7.5 which is a 9 in women’s but they feel at least a half size bigger than that. I like wearing them with heavier socks but they’re so comfortable and well worn, you could wear them with any sock. I’ve had the zippers replaced but the zipper pulls kept making noise so I removed them. You can still easily pull up the zipper and I think it makes them look more streamlined. Are they well worn? 100% yes. But they are still one of the coolest pair of shoes I’ve ever owned.
