A similar items packaging suggests that the size 40 refers to a bra size so please review measurements to ensure fit. Personally I might recommend for a size large - extra large. My mannequin typically has a best fit with size medium clothes for reference. This gorgeous creamy white lace slip from Sears is full length and stunning. Excellent vintage condition.
