This is a beautiful necklace gives the appearance of Bakelite. It is in beautiful shades of orange, amber and black. The beads graduate from 3/8” to 1”. It has a gold barrel clasp. The necklace measures 33” long. It is from a smoke free home.

katyfowl @nicolewebb730 I apologize for taking so long to get back to you. I’ve taken a closer look at the necklace. I added another picture of the chip that you noticed. The layer under the chip to be the same but the area around the chip has a different color. I tried the hot water test and did not get a smell. Edited my post to reflect that it is not Bakelite. Thank you for pointing this out. I truly did not mean to mislead anyone. I still have a lot to learn about this jewelry.

nicolewebb730 @katyfowl it is a possibility that it could be Amber. Amber feels and looks like plastic and many necklaces like this were Amber. The clasp is 40ish-50 era. And I don’t see any seams.
