This is a super cool chunky plastic vintage necklace with carved accent beads. It has two-toned green beads and a screw closure which leads me to believe this was made somewhere between the 50s/60s or slightly prior. Has a great bakelite look, but it doesn't test positive with simichrome. Could be celluloid or even lucite. Either way, it's a really interesting and unique piece of vintage jewelry. The colors are so juicy and perfect for that retro summer pinup look. 30" long, excellent condition!

loki_and_pearl I have this SAME necklace and have been wondering what in the world it was made of. I tested for bakelite and nothing...thanks. These are so gorgeous. I hope someone buys this soon! A GORGEOUS statement piece :)

k_koffindesigns @loki_and_pearl thanks so much! It definitely needs to be worn, it's too cool not to be! I can identify most vintage plastics just by look at this point, but it took me YEARS of practice lol. Simichrome is your safest bet though, unless you have bakelite that is dyed or sealed. If this were bakelite, it'd be worth hundreds. This is most likely lucite, but a great look-a-like
