Vintage Halsam American Logs Building Set Game Toy USA Halsam patented the square log design in 1936. Aside from "American Logs", they were also packaged as "Frontier Logs" & "Walt Disney Early Settlers Logs". The Halsam version was much more popular that the "Lincoln Log" competitor in the South. Southerns were still not interested in anything that portrayed the "Lincoln" name. Playskool aquired Halsam in 1962. They continued to produce toys under the Halsam name until 1968. In 1968 Miton Bradley took Playskool over and "Halsam" essentially became part of history.
