Vintage Handmade Ceramic Tiles Arts & Crafts / Medieval Motifs High End Samples

5 beautiful handmade ceramic tiles, likely sample for a high end tile manufacturer. All 5 feature Arts & Crafts period traditional Medieval design motifs. Beautiful colors and attention to detail. My boyfriend bought them around 20 years ago at an antique sale in Carmel where they wanted $16-$24 a piece!! He ended up paying $75 for the lot. Im not sure who the artist is, but they were made in the 1970's by someone important or so believed the proprietor of the antique sale! Either way they make very cool design pieces. Both for decor and practical uses. I've mainly had them as decor in the kitchen that can quickly be grabbed for a trivet if necessary. Otherwise laying on a windowsill with a plant on top or as part of a display with crystals & sentimental items of similar looks, colors or theme. Work creat as coasters, under candles, hot pans, plants, etc. I always wanted to mosaic with them but couldn't bring myself to break them up at the price we paid. At my asking price that shouldnt be an issue & could make some beautiful mosaic trays, frames, pots, statues, etc. The griffin of course is my favorite in size & color & will make a fabulous addition to your kitchen as a hot plate trivet if nothing else! Would make an excellent gift for the fantasy, Medieval, D&D, Arts & Crats/William Morris, vintage floral & ceramics fans in your life!
