Vintage Handmade Cocoon Coat

Interesting vintage piece. Cocoon shape, knee length with bracelet sleeves**. No label, I'd guess it is handmade from the 50s/60s. Wool outer layer, interesting deep red fabric with black tips giving it an almost iridescent quality. Large iridescent red buttons. Item is wearable as is but could really use lining repair. Priced accordingly. Lining is a silky red/blue iridescent color with blue stitching. Bottom two button holes could use some restitching but it is not really noticeable. This is a potentially great project piece for a seamstress. It's a great coat that is deserving of a new life. Outer is in great shape--I've worn it a couple of times to special occasions in its current state. The collar has a hook and eye and can be worn clipped up, funnel style. No size but body of coat is forgiving, the arms being the most fitted part. I'd guess it's equivalent to a modern M/L or a 10-12.
