Vintage Handsewn Red Silk Fit and Flare Dress

Tailored midi dress in bright red slubby silk dress. Features include cap sleeves, lined skirt, decorative bows (removeable) and piping to accent neckline and waist. Beautiful attention to details and excellent finish work. Dating from the 1960’s, rumor has it my grandmother made it to meet the President (related to her work around public schools and integration). There were varied memories about which dress she actually wore. Note this fabric is woven with no stretch. Minor stains on lining toward the hem likely related to age.
