Herbert Tsosie is a jeweler who draws inspiration from the rich heritage of his Navajo traditions for his one of a kind pieces. Born in 1950, he has been making jewelry since he was fifteen years old. At fifteen, he was already considered one of the top Southwestern US jewelers / silversmiths (of the past and present). Herbert was featured in Arizona Highways along with other greats like Jesse Monongye, Richard Tsosie, Boyd Tsosie Gibson Nez, James Little, and Larry Golsch.
The unique quality of vintage sterling silver jewelry comes from the beautiful characteristics inherent in hand-wrought silver. At times you may be able to see the artisan's tool marks - such is the charming nature of hand-made jewelry. It's not new and perfect, nor should it be. Vintage silver pieces such as this may also show age appropriate tarnish.
