Vintage Imperial Glass Amber Lion Covered Candy Dish Frosted Open Lace
Inside lid inscribed "Patent Aug 6 1889"
Impressed IG mark noted on the bottom was used by Imperial Glass beginning in 1951 and until the time the were bought out by Lenox in 1970s.
Lion is frosted. Base is clear with open lace design.
Atterbury Glass produced from 1880s to early 1900s. Another indication of the Atterbury Glass connection is the lace edge motif that Atterbury called 'Dancing Sailor', which was used on several of Atterbury's patterns.
Westmoreland and Imperial Glass later reproduced them from the same molds in the mid 1900's using the original patent date of Aug 6 1889.
Measures: 7 1/2" long x 6 1/4" wide x 6 1/2" tall
