It is marked on the bottom: "Sculptor A Santini - Classic Figure - Made in Italy" The material is not ivory but a compound of marble, alabaster and resin that was poured into a mold and then hand-finished. Amilcare Santini was a sculptor born in Florence, Italy in 1910. His firm reproduces sculptures based on his original designs, and those of several other artists. Though he died in 1975, the firm remains in business and is still run by his family.
