Vintage James Sadler England Gold Lusterware Pink Floral Tea Pitcher Milk Large

This pitcher jug was made by Sadler, of England. Sadler, famous for it's teapots, produced this pitcher as an accessory to the tea table. The pitcher was made in the mold to have a smooth round shape. It sits on a smaller round base. The pitcher was coated inside with a chocolate brown glaze. The outside of the pitcher was coated in a peach pink glaze. A floral pattern in gold was applied to the front and back of the pitcher. Gold was hand painted around the base with a line of gold dots separating the gold from the peach glaze. The handle was hand painted in gold. A gold line was applied around the rim. On the underside of the base it is marked with the Sadler backstamp. Gold marks were also added by the potter. This pitcher measures 5 inches wide, 6 inches from handle to rim and stands 5 inches high. This pitcher jug would be suitable for water, hot or cold, milk or juice.
