Pre-owned figurine from Japan!
* Figurine is of Ninomiya Sontoku, who was an important figure in Japan in the late 1700's to early 1800's; he was a self-educated
person who rose to prominence by his reforms in agriculture and economics
* This statue is a depiction of Ninomiya as a young boy, studying while working (carrying firewood) - role model for all of Japan!
* Porcelain ceramics
* Approx. 12 1/2" tall x 5" base; 17" circumference at its thickest where he is carrying the firewood
* Signed at base - "kutani"
* Beautiful colors!
* Pottery is kutani moriage - Japanese porcelain technique that uses raised enamel (3D effect), often with gold-toned design
elements
* Excellent used condition
* There are green felt stickers at the base
* Comes from pet-friendly home
