Vintage Jaru Ceramic Ashtray Mid Century Modern MCM

Vintage ceramic Jaru ashtray in pale yellow color. Jaru pottery is a generic name for unique, handmade pottery, particularly from the mid-century era. Jack and Ruth Hirsch began Jaru Art Products, and named it from the combination of the first two letters of their names, Jack and Ruth. Later on, Jaru began to sell some of the works they created themselves, together with the help they got from other recruited artists. Many of the pieces had the Jaru signature etched underneath one or more layers of glaze, in addition to a paper stamp of the company, the year of creation of the piece, as well as the estimated monetary value in the market at the time of sale. This piece is stamped Jaru 1978 and 178. Measures 9.75" x 9.5". Free from any chips, cracks or flaws. Truly excellent vintage condition. Ships next day. Offers welcome.
