Gorgeous vintage Jeannette Glass Iris and Herringbone Iridescent Centerpiece Bowl. This lovely iridescent glass bowl is in the Iris and Herringbone pattern. It was made by Jeannette Glass Company from 1928 into the 1970's. Gorgeous iridescent glass is sometimes called depression glass or carnival glass but I’m not sure if those terms aptly apply in this case. This bowl is about 11-1/2” in diameter with an eye-catching ruffled (fluted) edge. I love the beautiful amber (marigold) color and iridescent finish, not to mention the beautiful ruffled rim design and detailing in the iris pattern. It’s SIMPLY GORGEOUS! Having belonged to my grandmother, this bowl sat in the center of her kitchen table (she used it as a large fruit bowl) for as long as I can remember. I’ve had it boxed in the closet for years as I don’t really have a use for it. I’m hoping to find a home for it with someone who will lovingly use it, and appreciate its beauty, as my grandmother did. There are no chips, cracks, or repairs. There are some small scratches on the interior and the finish is a bit worn, but I think that simply adds to the vintage charm of this piece. Please see photos.
