Vintage Kalevala Koru Bird Pendant

The largest Kalevala Koru bird pendant with incredible detail and personality. Doubles as a brooch. The large bird is occasionally referred to as 'The Eagle', but the official name is 'The wild duck of Uhtua'. The inspiration for the pendant comes from archaeological findings in the region of Uhtua in Karelia, Russia dating back to the era of the Crusades. Though the bird has been produced for a very long time with a variety of decors and pendant types (duck feet, feathers or other symbols) it is not very common. The pendant is marked 'Made in Finland' and 'KK'. There is no chain included. Size: The pendant is 9.5 x 5 cm (3.7 x 2"). #celestial #vintage B2
