Lilly Daché (1892–1989) was one of the best and most successful milliners the world has ever known. She trained in Paris and brought her skill to New York in the 1920's. She became incredibly famous for creating pieces of art that were worn by the rich and famous during the 30's, 40's, 50's, and 60's. She attracted high profile clientele of stage and film stars, to name a few: Marlene Dietrich, Greta Garbo, Audrey Hepburn, Bette Davis, Jean Harlow and the ~oh so colorful~ Carmen Miranda having designed her famous fruit filled turban + many more....
Her hats are now very collectible and are increasing in value.
I was told that this "Dachettes" label may have been from the 1950"s-1960"s time period and this may be one from a special "1920's Revival Collection" which was a popular style during a few years in the 1960's?
This hat is clean and is in very good condition. It reminds me of "The Gatsby" style riding hat or maybe something from the Flapper styles but rather than for flashier stage shows it would be worn more out and about town.
This hat is not only a vintage collectible hat with the value going up but can be worn with today's styles very easily and is a comfortable, attractive hat. *This hat is totally wearable
