Little Mermaid Porcelain Figurine Designer: Edvard Eriksen, noted in back of figurine. Produced in Graefenthal, Germany per Marker's Mark on base Marker's mark - used in the 1990s Vintage Approximate Measurements Height 4.25" Pre-owned. Very Good Condition Edvard Eriksen (10 March 1876 – 12 January 1959) was a Danish–Icelandic sculptor. This same design by Mr. Eriksen was also produced by Royal Copenhagen yet not the same molds. I have both and there are variations in mold, size and paint/glaze for example. Schneider & Co. was formed by Carl Schneider in 1906 in Gräfentha, Germany. In the 1990s after many name and ownership changes, it became VEB Porzellanfiguren Gräfenthal. After the German reunification, the company was struggling to start. The factory held old molds and blank figurals, many from the original founder's time, Carl Schneider, Many of these were used and finished for sale in the 1990s. Some pieces have a special combination of marks: the older "Kronenadler" mark of Carl Scheidig was combined with the crown mark.
