Vintage Louis Rousselet French Faux Pearl & Amber Glass Fringe Deco Motif Collar

Vintage Louis Rousselet fringe or waterfall style collar necklace with a net of faux pearls framed on each side by a art deco style etched gilt disc, amber-toned glass beads, and an additional faux pearl leading into the gilt chain, with a series of drop glass beads and filigree below. Spring ring closure. About 15 1/4 inches or so end to end, and circa 1930s-1940s. Some loss of gilding from age and use. A really lovely piece. Rousselet is now best known for his famous faux pearls - Chanel was one of his first customers - but he created jewelry for many of the French couture houses (e.g., Dior, Schiaparelli, Givenchy, etc.), both jewelry and beads for Miriam Haskell, as well as pieces sold under Maison Rousselet’s own name.
