This beautiful hand blown cornucopia shaped bowl features a brownish tinted glass swirled with stunning purple undertones.
Iconic MCM “Sooner Glass” has often been confused with Murano. This art glass however was made in the United States by diverse glass manufacturers and was immensely popular during the sixties and seventies. This novelty glass line was produced as early as 1959 and is known by many names, including: Old Hickory Glass, Sooner Glass, Ozark Glass and Oklahoma Glass due to its origin in Oklahoma and Arkansas.
Many of these pieces were made by the Central Glass Co. out of Spiro, Oklahoma, but both Colorado Springs, Colorado and Fort Smith, Arkansas were also known locations where this type of glass was made, either by the same people or others using the same techniques. This style is known for using slag or recycled glass and cullet.
There are some minor scratches, which is expected due to its age. But otherwise it is in pristine vintage condition.
