Measures approx 7 1/2” high and 5" at widest point. The inside shows two light manufacturing imperfections by the handles. The bottom seems rough but looks to be manufactured that way and glazed over. I thought there were chips on the bottom but they are glazed over. Overall very attractive and rare pottery.
Juanita Ware, a swirled or marbled pottery was made by an Ohio studio potter named Bert Crawford (1892-1972). Crawford perfected a technique for mixing different types of clay in the same piece of molded pottery - a daunting task, because different clay's shrink at different rates when they're heated in a kiln. Crawford and his business partner, Greta Corey, began producing Juanita Ware at their pottery, the Triangle Novelty Co. of Carrollton, Ohio, in 1933. The pottery moved a few times before it closed in 1949. Crawford opened another pottery, named Crawford's Pottery in Dalton, Ohio in 1951. He continued making marbled tableware, planters and other items for two more decades.
