🍓Vintage MOSSER Ruby Red 5” Thistle Berry Condiment Bowl Candy Dish-MINT!🍬

Absolutely luminous in a sheer ruby red, this is a 5” berry bowl from Mosser Glass in a sweet, very popular pattern known as Inverted Thistle. This is a hand molten and hand pressed piece, formed in a cast iron mold in Mosser’s Cambridge, Ohio factory. This design includes a raised pattern of the flowers and leaves, trimmed with a graceful scalloped and sawtooth rim. The inverted thistle pattern has been around for decades, originating with the Cambridge Glass Co. in approximately 1903. Mosser purchased the molds and continued making this pattern after Cambridge discontinued business in approximately 1958. Inverted thistle pieces are still manufactured by Mosser today, so it’s difficult to determine the age of this particular bowl, although it was sourced from a Southern California estate sale. This bowl measures 5” wide and 2 1/4” tall and is in mint condition, with a Mosser label intact on the base as shown. Retro vibe with a timeless feel, this would be a gorgeous serving bowl for berries as intended, nuts or candy, or a standalone art glass piece to be admired.
