Vintage Marimekko Suomi Women's Pocket Dress Shirtwaist 38 RARE Dark Blue 1970s

Classic and stunning 1970s Marimekko 100% cotton shirt or "pocket" dress in a dark blue with even darker blue stripes. A subtle yet bold vintage Marimekko pattern on crisp, heavy cotton. It has a button front, long sleeves and cuffs. It is a straight-shift style with a darted bodice and front pockets. Unlined. The old style was to wear it loose, but I have also photographed it pinned in back to show how it would look cinched. Perfect condition, ready to wear. Vuokko Nurmesniemi was a principal designer for Marimekko and was known for bold color and shape combinations and whimsical looks. Marked 38, this is the equivalent of US women's size 8.
