Signed by Artist The artist's palette was originally made by Renior, but it was updated with enamel work by Matisse and is one of the most desirable Matisse pieces. The big names in copper jewellery is Renoir & Matisse. Jerry Fels founded Renoir in 1946 and Matisse Ltd. in 1952, in California. Many of the designs are reminiscent of those being produced in the Arts and Crafts era, when many homewares, etc, were made of hammered copper.
